Islamic Banks and the Impact

 of the world Financial Crisis

            This paper aims to discuss and analyze the ability of Islamic Banks to avoid the negative impact of the World Financial Crisis. The paper begins with certain questions the most important of which is Whether those banks have been able to avoid the negative impact of the said crisis ? The paper tries to answer those questions at the end of the paper. The causes and the impact of the world financial crisis are discussed, then a brief  discussion on the Islamic Banks, their functions, their special features and their differences from conventional ones, as well as their growth during the last two decades. The paper also carries out a critique for the Islamic banks- their weaknesses and the challenges facing those banks. Finally, the paper concludes with  some recommendations which can enhance the role and development of those banks.
