An Analysis of the Relationship Between Sustainable Islamic Endowment and Community Partnership in Promoting Sustainable Development: Mehrbani Hospital as a Model

Abstract

Sustainable Islamic Waqf is an economic system based on allocating and investing Waqf funds or assets to achieve long-term benefits for society. Sustainable Islamic Waqf is an effective mechanism for achieving some sustainable development goals, as it works to finance long-term projects that enhance economic growth, achieve social justice, and preserve the environment through proper management and innovative strategies. The research problem is the lack of clarity of the role of sustainable Islamic Waqf in promoting some sustainable development goals. In light of this, the research studies the role of sustainable Islamic Waqf in achieving some sustainable development goals. As a result, the research aimed to demonstrate the role of sustainable Islamic Waqf in achieving sustainable development goals through partnership between the private sector and the public participating in the “Mahrabani Hospital” project in Erbil Governorate. The importance of the research comes from the importance of the role of sustainable Islamic Waqf in promoting sustainable development goals. The research is based on the hypothesis that there is a role for sustainable Islamic Waqf in achieving some sustainable development goals. Through the research results, it becomes clear that sustainable Islamic Waqf contributes to achieving goals such as eliminating poverty, providing quality education, reducing inequality, climate action in general, and achieving good health by investing Waqf funds in “Mahrabani” Hospital in particular. Finally, the research recommended a set of important recommendations, including investing the assets or funds of sustainable Islamic endowments with proper management and innovative strategies, so that the endowment becomes a pioneering model in achieving some of the goals of sustainable development.
