Abstract

This study aimed to identify the impact of information technology on human development in Iraq, Achieving this goal requires relying on the deductive approach based on abstract scientific foundations to arrive at deducing realistic results through the use of the descriptive analytical method and analyzing data related to the reality of information technology in the Iraqi economy, along with analyzing data that indicate indicators of human development in Iraq, The results shown by the data prove that the information technology used is not compatible with and does not respond to the current and future needs of the beneficiaries due to the weakness of the communications sector and the incompatibility of communications devices and software with modern developments, with a narrow scope of access to all individuals in a complete manner, which enhances the facilitation of benefiting from basic services and improving the living reality of the majority of individuals. Therefore, cooperation between relevant authorities and the Ministry of Communications in providing funding and infrastructure to support the expansion of technological services can contribute to addressing the impact of services being delivered to individuals and improving the level of income for individuals toward social welfare, which enhances the integrated development of individuals and society.
