تأثيرات إنشاء ميناء مبارك على مشروع ميناء الفاو الكبير

الملخص

Iraqi ports represent the only gate to the international shipping lanes through which most of the country’s export and import flow.  These ports play a crucial role in the country’s economy and have a direct impact on the current and future economic development plans. The Iraqi plans for rebuilding its economy and oil industry, after years of destruction and neglect, constitute building “Al Faw” grand port as an essential facility to accomplish the main goal of retaining its leading role in the international economic map.

       This study is conducted in the light of the construction of the Kuwaiti “Mubarak” port to evaluate the impact on the Iraqi ports and the capability of accessing waterlines. The study assumes that there will be devastating effect by the construction of “Mubarak” port on the “Al Faw” grand port , Thus the negative effects this will have significant and sustainable in the Iraqi economy.
