The impact of management information systems on crisis management: An analytical research of the opinions of a sample of managers in the national card departments in Baghdad - Al-Rusafa

Abstract

The research aims to identify the role of management information systems in crisis management from the point of view of the national card managers in Baghdad. The research derives its importance from the importance of the variables whose concept, importance and most important dimensions will be delved into,as it represents the first independent variable (management information systems) with its approved dimensions (accuracy, speed, flexibility, reliability), which is a continuous dynamic process and knowledge of its role and impact on the responding variable (management Crises) with their dimensions (administrative, economic, political and social).The research problem was that most organizations, including the national card departments, face many crises due to the changing nature of the external and internal environment, which requires focusing on the development of managing these crises through the use of management information systems, developing the basics of this administration, and identifying its most important needs. The research sample consisted of (30) managers. The analytical descriptive approach was followed, and the questionnaire was used as a data collection tool. The (spss) program was used to find out the level of awareness of the variables by the sample and to test the main and sub-research hypotheses, and the first main hypothesis, which states The existence of a statistical significance for management information systems and crisis management. The second main hypothesis came to confirm the existence of a statistically significant effect of management information systems in crisis management in the national card departments. The most important conclusions: the existence of an active and significant role for management  information systems in crisis management in the national card departments in Baghdad governorate. The results also showed that at the level of dimensions, the strongest correlation was between the dimension of resilience and crisis management. While there was the weakest correlation between the dimension of accuracy and crisis management, and the most influential dimension in crisis management after reliability .The research came out with several recommendations, the most important of which are: Proposing the creation of a unit or the formation of a permanent committee called (Crisis Management) that includes a group of experts and specialists in this field in all organizations and in the national card departments in particular due to its importance in finding preventive ways to confront or avoid crises, as well as to develop remedies for crises if they occur. that the researched departments should develop the approved methods in order to increase the accuracy of decision-making and rapid response in the event of crises and advanced devices in collecting, analyzing and storing information for citizens..
