The reflection of foreign direct investment on some economic indicators in Iraq for the period(2004-2020)

Abstract

The research aims to identify the most important obstacles that prevent attracting direct foreign investment to Iraq, and to work hard on the necessity of having effective institutions and legislating laws that work on the obstacles facing foreign direct investment in Iraq, in addition to Iraq's lack of dealing capabilities to attract foreign direct investment, and this constitutes a problem or  An obstacle to achieving the renaissance of the Iraqi economy.  As the research relied on the descriptive analytical method in studying foreign direct investment in Iraq, and how to attract foreign direct investment in Iraq, and the most important conclusion of the research is the weakness of the investment environment in Iraq, as a result of the political situation, tendencies and wars that Iraq is going through during the study period, which  It led to not attracting direct foreign investments and the most important recommendation is to work to protect the foreign investor as well as the local one through the legislation of laws that serve investment and the elimination of political conflicts, wars and disputes
