Abstract

The research aims to analyze and estimate the impact of global competitiveness indicators on attracting foreign direct investment to the Gulf Cooperation Council countries classified within the global competitiveness indicators for the period (2010-2018)and based on data published by the World Bank and the World Economic Forum and using standard models based on balanced panel data (Balanced Panel Data)represented by the Generalized Moment Methodology(GMM). The results reached the negative impact of the competitiveness index on attracting foreign direct investment in the countries of the study sample, which requires the Gulf Cooperation Council countries to make an effort to increase the levels of competitiveness to raise the rates of foreign direct investment flow in the sample countries.
