Abstract

The research seeks to review in detail the development of government spending on education for a sample of Arab countries(Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Qatar) and for a time series extending over the period(2002-2012), as government spending on education is a large part of investment in countries, which leads to improving human capital represented by education using tabular data, tables and charts that consist of two models, the first of which focused on spending on education as a percentage of total spending and the second on spending on education as a percentage of the gross domestic product. The results showed that there was no significance in both Saudi Arabia and Egypt and that there was significance in the State of Qatar, which reflects the weakness and fluctuation of spending on education in both countries in the specified years. The research concludes with a set of conclusions and recommendations.
