Prudential monetary policy is a set of measures and procedures aimed at preventing potential financial crises and reducing financial system risks. This study aims to analyze the impact of the precautionary monetary policy pursued by the Central Bank of Iraq in confronting economic crises in Iraq through some basic indicators, focusing on how to use precautionary monetary tools to reduce the financial and systemic risks that Iraq experienced during the period 2010-2022. Good precautionary monetary policies and indicators contribute effectively to mitigating crises. Despite the constraints facing monetary policy in achieving its objectives, especially financing the financial deficit and the weakness of the financial and banking structure, there has been relative success in the field of risk prevention. The study recommends the need to strengthen the legal and regulatory framework.
