Organizational Sensing Ability and Its Contribution to Creating Sustainable Development: An Analytical Study at Al-Hillah Private University College – Babylon

This research aimed to reveal the availability of the dimensions of organizational detection capabilities, environmental analysis, strategic information exchange, and consideration of multiple points of view in the studied organization. Determine the level of application of the research dimensions in the sample organization for sustainable development, and determine the role of organizational sensing capabilities in sustainable development. The study community was taken from Hilla Private University College in Hilla city, and the questionnaire was distributed to a random stratified sample of teaching staff and leaders in the college. A sample of 50 valid items for analysis was selected. The statistical analysis program (SPSS) was relied upon to analyze the data. The research reached a set of results, the most important of which are: The studied organization, according to its leadership, has an average level of environmental scanning capabilities, which indicates that the organization's management has a strong motivation and desire to search for new opportunities and invest in them. The studied organization has an average level of strategic information exchange capabilities, which indicates that the organization's management's focus on exchanging information and communicating with each other is less than the level of ambition, and this requires taking advantage of various information, especially that related to the organization's activities, sharing it with others, transferring it to the parties that need it, and preparing it with good specifications. The two studies also aim to provide a set of recommendations, the most important of which are: The organization must pay great attention to developing its capabilities in terms of investigation and research capabilities by developing a clear strategy to transform early signals and profitable opportunities outside its work into profitable business opportunities. The necessity for leaders in the college of the research sample to pay attention to developing and improving the ability to exchange strategic information among themselves by continuously diversifying the set of strategic ideas, and allocating sufficient time to discuss the needs of potential and future customers by focusing more on what is required and scientifically focusing on that.
