This research aims to study the impact of digital transformation on the manufacturing sector in Iraq, highlighting its positive and negative effects on the Iraqi economy. It also identifies the challenges facing the manufacturing sector in the country, including the lack of information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure and the significant weakness in ICT investments, both domestically and internationally. The study concludes that Iraq still lacks techno-economic policies that would lead to improved productivity levels and increased competitiveness of its economic structures and institutions. Furthermore, the low spending on research and development and the lack of attention given to developing human capital have negatively impacted the Iraqi economy and industry. Therefore, the research recommends developing the ICT sector and increasing investment in infrastructure to accelerate digital transformation, which will lead to the development of the manufacturing sector, improved efficiency and quality, and increased competitiveness.
