This study aims to analyze the role of remittances from Iraqi workers abroad in supporting economic growth during the period (2010–2023), by examining the evolution of remittance volume, its ratio to GDP, and its impact on overall indicators such as consumption and investment. The study is based on the hypothesis that remittances from Iraqi workers abroad have a positive impact on economic growth, but the level of this impact varies depending on the economic environment and the policies followed in investing these remittances. The research relied on a descriptive analytical approach, supported by official data issued by the Central Bank of Iraq, the Central Statistical Organization, and the World Bank. The results showed that remittances were characterized by fluctuation and instability during the period studied, and their contribution to GDP remained limited, not exceeding 0.6% at best. This is due to the absence of government policies regulating these remittances, weak financial inclusion, and households' reliance on remittances for consumption purposes.
