Abstract

This article analyzes the reality of ration card allocations in Iraq after 2004 by examining the transformations in financial allocations and the mechanisms of distributing ration card items amid the economic and political changes experienced by Iraq. The study aims to identify the adequacy of these allocations in achieving food security for low-income groups, as well as to reveal the major challenges facing the ration card system, including administrative corruption, weak planning, and fluctuations in the state budget. The article also discusses the impact of reducing ration card items on the living conditions of Iraqi citizens and provides an analytical assessment of government subsidy policies and the possibility of developing them in line with the requirements of social justice and economic development.
