Household Saving Determinants, Selected Countries, ARDL ModelAbstract
Household saving is considered an important driver of economic growth, as it contributes to capital formation and the financing of investment. Its determinants vary according to the economic and political conditions of each country. In this context, the study aims to measure and analyze the impact of household saving determinants in selected countries during the period (2005–2023), using the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model to conduct statistical and econometric tests. The research reached several conclusions, including: a positive and significant relationship between per capita GDP and interest rates and household saving, while the relationship between political stability and household saving was positive but insignificant. Regarding the relationship between tax burden and inflation rate and household saving, it was found to be negative and significant (in the long run). Among the most important recommendations are: diversifying saving instruments through the development of flexible and secure saving products that suit the needs and characteristics of households, and encouraging various social groups to save regularly and sustainably.
