Abstract

The research aims to theoretically frame the phenomenon of the feminization of poverty, as well as pointing out the repercussions of the causes explaining the poverty of Iraqi women, as the issue or phenomenon of the feminization of poverty is one of the important issues that has become a concern of those interested in issues of empowering women and ways to increase their economic participation, as well as defining the roles of players in sustainable development. (State and international organizations) In reducing the aggravation of the phenomenon of feminization of poverty, the importance of research lies in defining the causes of the phenomenon of feminization of poverty in Iraq, and identifying and naming the mechanisms of confrontation and repelling the poverty of women in Iraq and ways of their economic empowerment. Therefore, the research assumes that "the deterioration of the economic and social reality affected by instability The political and economic contributed to the deepening and entrenchment of the phenomenon of feminization of poverty in Iraq. To achieve this hypothesis, the researchers followed the inductive-analytical method. One of the most important conclusions reached by the researchers is the low rate of economic participation by females compared to males. Education, skills, and not keeping pace with technological developments, as well as societal and cultural constraints that greatly affected their participation rate. The research recommended the need to train and qualify all poor women on income-generating activities in order to ensure their empowerment and acquisition of new skills.
