Abstract

The research aims to clarify the trends of the reciprocal relationship affecting both the currency issued by the Central Bank of Iraq and the gross domestic product. The issuance of currency is one of the important variables in supporting economic activity, especially the private sector, because of its impact on increasing production, and thus it contributes to raising the growth rates of the gross domestic product, in Iraq during the study period 2004-2021. The gross domestic product in general expresses economic efficiency, and the development of the standard of living, and then a measure of well-being. The gross domestic product is one of the most important and basic indicators that is used, in addition to other indicators, to formulate economic policies and make international and local comparisons. The gross domestic product is defined as the value of the outputs that are produced within the country in a period of time, usually a year, and in this study, the deductive analysis approach was followed, which relates to the analysis of the economic phenomenon or problem starting from generalities and using the financial analysis method for the variables of the study, and through this study it was achieved to verify the relationship between the changes that occur in the issuance of currency and the gross domestic product in some countries. years and this relationship was not achieved in other years of the research sample.
