The Role of Economic Reform in Diversifying Sources of Income in Iraq for the period 2004-2020

The Iraqi economy has long been suffering from the imbalance of the productive structure, which is embodied in the distortion of the relations of economic structures and the proportions that make up the economic system, as it departs from what economic theory decides of proportional relationships between them. Therefore, the research aims to diagnose the reality of economic reforms in the Iraqi economy during the period studied, as well as to analyze the behavior of the Iraqi economy And the effects of the rentier pattern, based on facts represented by macroeconomic data, In addition to exploring the imbalances and the causes of the fragility of the ethnic economy, and what are the alternatives associated with the necessities of economic diversification by analyzing the available capabilities in the country through several indicators of oil and non-oil revenues, public expenditures, and the total contribution of the productive sectors, especially agricultural and industrial, to the gross domestic product, on the basis of which visions are designed Philosophical and practical reform of the structure of the Iraqi economy and the advancement of productive sectors.
The research concluded that the Iraqi economy was unable to achieve the desired goals under the policy of international liberation and openness. Instead of these policies to activate the economy and accelerate its growth, However, it contributed to the inhibition of sectoral growth processes, which requires reformulation of economic policies in accordance with economic reality and the possibilities of achieving them.
