Abstract

The current research aims to reveal the relationship between good governance with its dimensions (Independence, participation, transparency, accountability), organizational reputation with its dimensions (Social responsibility, quality of service) , Through the mediating role of decision-making process, The researchers relied on the analytical descriptive approach, and the questionnaire was developed to ensure that there is a relationship between the variables of the current research. This research was applied and tested on the leaders of the University of Basra Council, which numbered (28) leaders, who were chosen using the method of (intentional sample), The data analysis was based on my programs (SPSS.V.24 & AMOS.V.24). The results of the study showed that there is a statistical relationship between the three variables of the research. It can be concluded from these results that interest in the application of good governance in the university leads to continuous improvement of the methods by which decision-making is made in accordance with the reality and requirements of the university. This reflects positively on enhancing the organizational reputation, achieving excellence and competition, and reaching the best levels of its overall performance. Therefore, the university's full adoption of the concept of good governance, awareness, and consolidation of its dimensions, mechanisms, and objectives would facilitate the process of applying it in all the coming stages.
